You say “sensory and motor symptoms are not that common”… if there are none how can you say the origin of the pain is actually the compression of the nerve caused by the herniated disc? If there are no Neurological symptoms along the dermatome than you should exclude a radiculopathy and think about a different cause for the symptoms
The authors do not mean paresthesia with sensory signs. A patient can have paresthesia without loss of sensation or motor deficits, the latter ones are not that common according to them. Hope that clarifies it!
@@maxfromphysiotutors now it’s clearer, paresthesia is one of the signs of an IRRITATION syndrome while loss of sensation is a sign of COMPRESSION syndrome, which is a more advanced fase and is probably less common because it is more severe, so now I see the reason for my misunderstanding, thank you
